Seal Pups PhotoWalk at Donna Nook Nature Reserve

15.00

Prompted by seeing lots of photos of seal pups which either all look the same or are blurred or out of focus we'll be taking a PhotoWalk to Donna Nook Nature Reserve to show you how to make the.most of this incredible spectacle.

From late October to December literally hundreds of seals give birth to their pups on the sand dunes of Donna Nook providing an amazing opportunity to see these wonderfully photogenic creatures up close.

There are so many myths and misunderstandings about photographing the seals at Donna Nook so we'll prepare you with advice about what kit to use, what settings are best and how to use the variable light on the coast. Critically we'll also introduce you to the Royal Photographic Society's Nature Photographers’ Code of Practice.

We'll meet up at the entrance to the Reserve at 9am for introductions and briefing before proceeding to the seals where you'll have ample time to explore, experience this amazing site for yourself and capture stunning, intimate images of the pups & adult seals. We'll be on hand to provide expert advice and guidance throughout to ensure everyone, regardless of their experience, capture images they'll be proud of. This PhotoWalk is perfect for everyone, from camera phone users to SLR owners and from novices to enthusiasts.

If we're lucky we may even see and get to photograph aircraft using the adjacent bombing range!

We'll finish around 11:30am

Location: Donna Nook Nature Reserve, Marsh Lane, Donna Nook, Lincolnshire (precise meeting instructions will be provided).

Date: Friday 24th November 2017 9:00 to 11:30
